While its always free to use and save any number of external online images to projects, this feature enables you to take photos to auto-place a marker on the map at your precise location.  Photos are saved in the cloud as part of your project.  Consider this feature for field surveying, hiking, or anytime its important to record the location of where your photo was taken.
